The Best Practices Seal Explained

The WiredTrust Best Practices Seal offers everyone the information they need to distinguish the safer and more responsible networks, sites and technologies from the others. The seal holders must qualify under WiredTrust’s strict best practice standards for safety, privacy and risk management. They must build safety in from the onset, applying care to the selection and training of their community service team, response to abuse reports, moderating their communities and being in compliance with privacy laws and security standards. They must have implemented and trained their staff in: responsible law enforcement; school, parent and minor user policies; cyberbullying, cyberharassment and sexual exploitation policies; underage user prevention, responsible advertising and data collection policies and practices. The seal holders are among the most responsible in the industry, and by stepping forward and putting safety first, lead the pack.
