The Make-up of WiredTrust’s Clients

The existing social networks and ISPs have a long-time working relationship with Parry Aftab. They are the first to have sought WiredTrust’s services and include Facebook, myYearbook and KidZui™, among others. The second largest and growing group of clients comes from the trusted offline brands. Most of these family brands have community Web sites and an increasingly difficult job in policing them. Their concern with safety and brand reputation makes them an easier sell than start-up networks that may put traffic before safety and security.

Leading MMOGs have turned to Parry Aftab for her help since they were first formed and have turned to WiredTrust as well. They tend to police their own sites using members to enforce the rules; they have come to WiredTrust for certifications and training as well as law enforcement liaison programs, vetting of their volunteers and escalating policies and technologies, as well as compliance issues.

Charter and Preferred Clients

Seven Charter Members will advise WiredTrust and receive premier and exclusive services not available to other clients.

Charter Members:

  • Three from the existing social networking/virtual world community (including one offline household brand member).
  • One from the technology sector.
  • One from the gaming industry.
  • Two from the ISP industry.

All Charter Members must make a substantial financial commitment for the first year. Additional years’ fees will be determined by the WiredTrust board, upon consultation with the Charter Members. Charter Members receive priority access to all services and training offered by WiredTrust, and special access to Dr. Aftab herself. They will also receive one on-location service of their choice annually, without additional charge (other than travel expenses and approved out of pocket expenses for those providing the service).

Charter Members also receive priority pricing on existing services and training offered by WiredTrust. Customized services and technologies and moderation, localization and translation services are not subject to priority pricing.

In addition the select few Charter Members, WiredTrust will have two additional premier categories of clients. (Given the huge demand for its services, WiredTrust has limited its clients to those in one of the three premier categories until June, 2009.) These include the Preferred Client category, for those clients turning to WiredTrust for substantial risk management and best practice needs, and Retainer Clients, which have an ongoing relationship with WiredTrust to either help them maintain their current high standards, have earned the Best Practice Seal or the Technology Certification, or are start-ups or household brands seeking access to WiredTrust’s expertise to guide them on a regular basis.
